Trust Is the Real Product
When a creator recommends something, they are spending trust they built over years. Audiences forgive a creator for a product that turns out to be ordinary; they are slower to forgive one that felt like a sellout. Brands that understand this get better work and longer partnerships.
Be Upfront About the Partnership
Every sponsored post should say so clearly, using the platform’s labels and plain words in the caption. Disclosure is required in most markets, and audiences respond better to an honest “this is sponsored, and here is what I think” than to a post that pretends not to be.
Let Creators Say No
The creators most worth working with turn down products they do not believe in. Send samples before you sign, and accept that some will pass. A creator who chose your product will talk about it far more convincingly than one who was talked into it.
Keep Your Promises
Pay what you agreed, when you agreed. Do not move the goalposts after the content is delivered. Creators share their experiences with each other, and a reputation as a fair partner is worth more than any single campaign.
Think in Seasons, Not Posts
The campaigns we see build the most trust run over months: a creator who uses a product over time and mentions it naturally is more believable than one who posts once and moves on. Plan for repeat appearances from the start.
